I was looking on Maverick Leather, and they sell “Chap leather bundles” (4-6 oz) at a very reasonable price. 2 large sides for about $125.
Is the temper on this leather too soft for boots?

My experience with the cheap maverick hides has been they’re great options for prototyping things, but I have been disappointed with them all for trying to use for the “real” thing

I really enjoyed seeing this topic. Big points for showing up with a knowing answer, @Mllcb42.
Especially trying to do things online during after-work hours, there are so many product listings that essentially become mystery boxes. We all end up rooting around online hoping somebody’s posted more product details elsewhere.
I’ve never tried reaching out to Maverick. They might be the kind of company you can cull during the 9–5.
