How to hand stitch a Norwegian Split Toe a la Alden?

Hi All, I’m wondering if anyone here has stitched a mock Norwegian Split Toe the way that Alden does it. Specifically I’m wondering what kind of stitch to do, how to lay it out, is it laid out on the last or before on the pattern, is it stitched on the last like an Alden LHS? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Photo attached of the desired result. Thanks!

Dave

I’ve never done one of these, so I shouldn’t say more. But it does look to me like those are integral moc toes, with gathering stitches into single-piece vamps, rather than separate plugs. Maybe it’s just the camera angle.

Does this help?

And this one, you can see the patterns premarked. But i dunno for sure if they were marked before or after going on the last. Wild guess is before

Very helpful, I should have tried searching in japanese. It does look like they are marked on the pattern first but there was only one line and they maybe mark the other line and layout each stitch when they are on the last, or maybe just freehand the stitch holes from years of experience. Also, in the second vid you can see the machine they use to accidentally cut half the welt stitches!

From what i can tell in the first vid where shes sewing there is still just one pattern line. I cant tell flr sure but i think she’s using it as a center line with the awl holes on either side
