I’d never heard of Kimmel. Looks like they’re a custom-order shop in Texas. So I imagine they’d want to see those photos, even if it’s a real old pair. Especially if you’re friendly about it.
I probably should have known it was a production-line boot, looking at the shank cover.
At the same time, I wouldn’t judge a plastic rand too hard if it’s nailed. As a guy learning to make, it’s not the swankiest, nor the most traditional. As a guy whose worn boots, I appreciated the durability. I always seem to goon up the tops of leather heels there, just kicking around.
I’m not sure if anybody’s pegs would hold putting that kind of leverage on it. But maybe it’s telling that they only pegged between the heel seat and the welt.
