Japanese Shoe making Tools

Thanks a bunch for sharing!

I’ve followed Ken on YouTube for some time now, but he had a backlog of videos before I started. I’ve added the one you linked to my list.

Tomizuka posted on their Instagram that they can ship overseas.

I checked their web shop and they changed it to allow shipping to the US using a proxy service called cross cart.

This is the total I was given with my test for 1 last. If I were to actually purchase from Tomizuka I would email them to clarify some of the options they offer.

I have no experience with Tomizuka or cross cart but I figured I would share in case anyone is feeling brave.

A quick search says 20,000 yen is about $130. I take it that’s before shipping from the proxy?

That’s part of the reason I would email or DM them if I wanted to make a purchase. The cross cart total given is supposed to include international (ECMS) shipping and duties. This is the only proxy service I have seen that works directly with sellers to provide an international shipping cost before its actually shipped to the proxy. My guess is it is based on some kind of standard box that Tomizuka provides but I don’t know if this would change if you ordered multiple pairs or very large sizes. From my experience with Buyee the international shipping estimate seems reasonable but I don’t know what would happen should issues arise.

They also offer a lot of customization including a section for additional measurement changes on the last. I don’t know if this allows you to change the waist, instep, or heel measurement so I would ask about that.

I think the main reason I would contact them before purchasing is because they have a discount after your first last purchase and I don’t know if that would be eligible if you use the proxy.
